Driver certification

For every paid ride or commuter occurrence, the driver certifies separately that the driver is at least 19, holds a valid driver license, has current vehicle registration, has insurance applicable to the trip, is legally permitted to operate the vehicle, and has independently planned the trip for the driver's own purpose.

Shared-expense limit

Passenger reimbursement is capped by UniConnect's effective-dated shared-expense calculation using the supported mileage rate and verified route distance, divided among the driver and all offered passenger seats. The driver receives the full displayed capped reimbursement. The driver may not operate for profit, solicit tips, request side payments, inflate route distance or costs, add undisclosed fees, or hold out a continuing transportation service through UniConnect.

Eligibility and evidence

Paid rides are permitted only where UniConnect marks the route eligible under the current jurisdiction rules: intrastate New York routes outside New York City. Cross-state routes, routes touching New York City, unverified routes, and routes lacking current certification are free-only. A recurring commuter route is not itself payable; each payment must attach to a dated occurrence.

No independent verification

UniConnect records the driver's representations and route evidence but does not independently verify licensing, registration, insurance, route purpose, vehicle condition, driving history, identity documents, or fitness to drive. The driver remains solely responsible for legal compliance and adequate insurance.
